I’m not going to attempt to explain what wabi-sabi is as Marcel Theroux produced a one and a half hour TV show and didn’t come up with a definitive answer.
Needless to say this Nescafe Barista coffee maker has all the characteristics of what wabi-sabi is. It uses instant coffee and can produce five different types of coffee that is not so different to what you would find in one of the high street coffee shop chains!
The look of the first cup I made fooled me into thinking it was real, until I took a sip. I’m not sold on it but if you need a morning caffeine fix and there’s nothing else in the house it will do the trick as long as it’s not loaded with decaf!
